Sonnet to Skyping!

When skyping kids must always be aware
Cause Mr. Law is surely standing there
When fighting him there is no way to win
Before you know it he will have your skin

So if this poem has advice for you
To Skype in class is not something to do
It will turn out that you will end up caught
And lost a war you need never have fought

But some kids do not care and like trouble
When they’re caught it pops their coolness bubble
And Mr. Law will get extremely mad
And he will call their mommy and/or dad

And things will end up way too very bad
Because the kids will become very sad

-Me!

This was my sonnet about skyping in class. Writing sonnets was a great challenge for me, however I think it was one of the things I had the most fun writing. I had trouble with my wording because the structure of AABB rhyming and the iambic pentameter which posed a challenge for finding expressive words that worked, but that just expanded my vocabulary and ultimately made me a better writer. I was surprised and pleased with my final product, because my mini sonnet was less than adequate (in my mind). Enjoy!
